A Forever Home for the Unadoptable
We specialize in taking in dogs often overlooked or deemed unadoptable due to their behavioral, medical, or other issues. These dogs become permanent residents of Dog Cabin Ranch Sanctuary, receiving the care, attention, and love they deserve for the rest of their lives. We are committed to ensuring that these dogs live out their days in comfort and happiness, surrounded by a community that truly cares for them.
Adoption for the Adoptable
While our focus is on providing a sanctuary for dogs with significant challenges, we also strive to find loving homes for healthy and adoptable dogs. We work diligently to match these dogs with families who can provide the care and environment they need to thrive. Every adoption is a celebration of a new beginning, both for the dog and its new family.
Tackling Homelessness with Spay and Neuter Programs
We recognize that one of the root causes of the overwhelming number of homeless dogs is the community’s lack of spaying and neutering. To address this, we are establishing comprehensive spay and neuter programs to reduce unwanted dogs. By offering these services, we are taking proactive steps to prevent the suffering and homelessness of future generations of dogs.
Promoting Health and Wellness
The health and well-being of dogs in our community are paramount to us. We are working towards offering the community discounted veterinary services through access to grants and donations, including heartworm testing, heartworm prevention, and treatment. We also provide vaccinations and flea and tick treatments, ensuring that the dogs in our care and our community are protected from common and preventable diseases. Our goal is to enhance the overall health of the dog population, one dog at a time.
Education for a Compassionate Community
Education is critical to creating a more compassionate and responsible community. Dog Cabin Ranch Sanctuary offers educational programs that teach the public about responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and how to care for dogs. We hope to foster a more understanding and supportive environment for all dogs by empowering our community with knowledge.

Mark and Karen Higgins own Dog Cabin Resort – which includes doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, and training.
Due to the nature of their business, they are often faced with the dilemma of dogs that have nowhere to go. Whether the dogs have behavioral issues, medical issues, suffer unforeseen circumstances or age – the list goes on and on – Dog Cabin becomes the last stop for some of these dogs. Mark and Karen’s ultimate goal is to find every dog a forever home, but when that is not possible, they become the forever home for the fur animals.
